Jewish Currents has launched its sixth annual Raynes National Poetry Contest. The submission season runs from October 15, 2017 to January 15, 2018.
Judges this year are Esther Cohen (author of Breakfast with Allen Ginsberg and God Is a Tree) and Jessica de Koninck (author of Cutting Room).
The entry fee is $18, which gains a subscription to Jewish Currents. Up to three poems can be submitted (up to three pages each). The first prize is $1,000, and there are two second prizes of $180 each. The prize-winning poems will be published in the Spring, 2018 issue of the magazine, and between thirty and forty finalist poems will be published in a book by May, 2018.
Entries by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to Jewish Currents, POB 111, Accord, NY 12404. Please include your name, address, and e-mail address on each poem submitted. Payment of $18 can be made at jewishcurrents.org/about/donate or by check to Jewish Currents at the post office box.
