Jeffrey Schwartz, a 19-year-old Chicagoan, completed ten days of constant trampoline bouncing (with five minutes off every hour) to set a world record of 266 hours and 9 minutes on this date in 1981. He raised more than $6,000 for the American Cancer Society. (Don’t ask, it was a slow day in Jewish history.)
“I’d say I’m pretty weird.” —Jeffrey Schwartz
