The second printing of the Israeli Black Panthers Haggadah is finally here!
The Haggadah was written in 1971 on a stolen typewriter in a dark tin shack in Jerusalem, marking a seminal moment in the Mizrahi struggle.
This bilingual (Hebrew/English) edition, published by Jewish Currents Press, includes a new introduction by Reuven Abergel, a founder of the Israeli Black Panthers, and an updated English translation of the Haggadah alongside new footnotes rich with anecdotes, notes on the authors’ intentions, and crucial context about the movement and its world. There are also original essays about the Panthers’ impact and the future of the Mizrahi struggle from Orly Noy, and from Sapir Sluzker Amran and Carmen Elmakiyes Amos.
This beautiful hardbound edition will make a meaningful contribution to your Passover seder for years to come. Domestic orders placed by March 16th will arrive before the first night of Passover (April 5th).
