Dear Reader,
This has been a dark and difficult year, and we need each other. That’s why Jewish Currents, along with over a dozen partner organizations, is bringing together a growing community of conscience for the largest gathering we’ve ever organized—Jewish Currents Live: A Day of Politics and Culture.
On September 15th, we’ll convene for a full day of reflection, conversation, and performance. To support families displaced in Gaza and student activists facing repression, all ticket proceeds will be donated to Palestine Children Relief Fund and Palestine Legal. Dozens of speakers and performers are coming in from around the world. But what we need most is you.
Register today for Jewish Currents Live: A Day of Politics and Culture!
Tickets are $54 for the general public, but as a Jewish Currents member, your ticket is just $18 for the whole day. (If you can’t make it in-person, virtual tickets are also available and free for members!)
Throughout the day, we’ll be addressing some of the most pressing questions of this overwhelming moment. How do we challenge the weaponization of antisemitism accusations? How do we imagine a Judaism beyond Zionism? And in the face of obvious war crimes, what are the international levers that might pressure Israel to cease its wanton destruction of Gaza?
For our session on this last question, we’ll be joined by an incredible panel of experts:
Daniel Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese
Robert Malley, lead negotiator on the 2015 Iran nuclear deal
Diala Shamas of the Center for Constitutional Rights
Zane Dangor, director-general of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation for the South African government, and one of the leaders in the country’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice
I hope you’ll join us for what I know will be a powerful day, with so many remarkable people—including you.
See you on the 15th,
Daniel May
Publisher, Jewish Currents
PS. We’ll have a members-only afterparty, featuring Chaia and Slavic Soul Party, following the final session—we hope to see you there!
