This 15-page coloring book features archival illustrations that call forth themes of rest and leisure, created by Jewish artists in places ranging from New York to Vilna, Cairo to Mexico City. Many of the images assembled here capture activities as meditative as the practice of coloring: Their subjects gaze at clouds, light candles on Shabbat, and lose themselves in dance and dreams.
These images were compiled by Elizabeth Shulman, with the exception of the illustrations from El Djugeton in Istanbul, which were sourced by Nesi Altaras. Some images have been altered for coloring by Solomon Brager.
