When the World Sleeps: Francesca Albanese and M. Gessen in conversation
Join Jewish Currents on Thursday, July 2nd, at 1 pm ET for a conversation with journalist M. Gessen and Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, about Albanese’s new book, When the World Sleeps: Stories, Words, and Wounds of Palestine.
In When the World Sleeps, the Italian human rights lawyer—who’s been sanctioned by the US government for her outspoken criticism of Israel—reflects on her years living in Jerusalem and pays tribute to the people who shaped her understanding of the Palestinian struggle. From her particular legal vantage point, she investigates questions of Palestinian self-determination, statehood, and the right of return.
