New Venue for Jewish Currents Live!

Dear Reader,

It’s been quite a week. After the Tow Center at Brooklyn College canceled on us six days ago, we weren’t sure whether our event—the largest gathering we’ve ever organized, with over 60 speakers and artists slated to participate, and hundreds registered to attend—was going to happen at all.

We’re excited (and relieved!) to announce the new locations for Jewish Currents Live: The Abrons Arts Center and the Angel Orensanz Foundation, on the Lower East Side. We can’t imagine a more fitting neighborhood. We’ll be hosting programming in both locations throughout the day, and attendees will have time to travel between venues to attend the sessions of their choosing.

We hope to see you there! Tickets are $54, or $18 for members (including access to a Member Appreciation afterparty with “Comedy for Gaza,” Slavic Soul Party!, and more). Student tickets and reduced-cost registration are also available. Virtual tickets are $18, or free for members.

Beginning at 10:30am and ending at 6pm (with an afterparty from 7:30pm-10:30pm), the day will include live podcast tapings of The Dig with Dan Denvir and Between the Covers with David Naimon, performances by Fargo Tbakhi, Hadar Ahuvia, and Alex Tatarsky, and sessions like “Judaism and Jewishness Beyond Zionism,” “Palestinian Liberation After the Destruction of Gaza,” and “Between Empire and Authoritarianism: The 2024 Election.”

We’ll release the finalized agenda in the next 24 hours. Our new venues have limited capacity, so register today to secure your spot. Tickets are $54 or $18 for members. Student tickets and reduced-cost registration are also available.

The outpouring of support we’ve received from all of you over the last week has been inspiring. Thanks to the many dozens who reached out with ideas, contacts, and words of encouragement. See you Sunday!

Sincerely,
Daniel
