These are hard days. The violence in Israel/Palestine continues to overwhelm, straining relationships both personal and political. In such dark times, it can be difficult to carve out moments of respite, solace, and joy—and all the more necessary to do so.
By calling forth moments long past and celebrations repeated throughout Jewish history, the holidays disrupt the everyday and connect us to one another.
