Israeli Jews Enter Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound on Passover

Over 1,500 Israeli Jews gathered in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound—known to Jews as the Temple Mount—during Passover on April 9th, accompanied by armed Israeli officers. Under the agreement between Israel and Jordan that governs the site, known as the “status quo,” non-Muslims are permitted to enter, but not to pray there.
