Safety Through Solidarity: A Radical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism

Shane Burley and Ben Lorber in Conversation with Mari Cohen

As exclusionary nationalist movements gain power globally, antisemitism is on the rise alongside other forms of hate targeting various marginalized groups and threatening multiracial democracy itself. But since October 7, debates around antisemitism have become more polarized than ever as Israel-advocates frame criticism of the country’s genocide in Gaza and its occupation over Palestinians as antisemitic. There is an urgent need to break the current impasse: to understand how antisemitism works, what’s missing in contemporary debates, and how to build true safety through solidarity—for Jews and all people.

Join us online on Monday, June 10th, for a members-only conversation hosted by Mari Cohen, featuring journalists Shane Burley and Ben Lorber talking about their new book Safety Through Solidarity: A Radical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism. We will discuss the book’s progressive and intersectional approach to antisemitism as well as Burley and Lorber’s ongoing work tracking rising antisemitism and other forms of hate.
