Jewish World
Service (AJWS)
is an independent not-for-profit organization founded in 1985 to help
alleviate poverty, hunger and disease among the people of the world
regardless of race, religion or nationality. Its president, Ruth W. Messinger,

Pandemic and Jewish Responsibility (January 2004).
Brit
Tzedek v'Shalom — Jewish Alliance for
Justice and Peace is a
national organization of American Jews deeply committed to Israel's
well being through the achievement of a negotiated settlement to the
long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Camp
Kinder Ring and Circle Lodge are the
summer resort and children's camp founded in 1927 by The Workmen's
Circle/Arbeter Ring. This 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity provides children and adults with a safe, fun and
Jewish cultural environment in which to enjoy their summer, grow as
individuals and make life long friendships.
Camp Kinderland is a summer camp with a
conscience since 1923
for boys and girls ages 9-16. It emphasizes group living,
cooperative decision making, and non-competitive but challenging
approaches to sports and games.
The Center on Philanthropy at
Indiana University
aims to increase the understanding of philanthropy,
improve its practice, and enhance participation in
philanthropy.
Coalition on the Environment
and
Jewish Life (COEJL) deepens the Jewish
community's commitment to the stewardship of creation and mobilizes the
resources of Jewish life and learning to protect the Earth and all its
inhabitants.
Congress of Secular Jewish
Organizations (CSJO) is
composed of independent organizations that promote a secular expression
of its members' Jewish heritage, with particular emphasis on the
culture and ethics of the Jewish people. For us the continuity and
survival of the Jewish people is paramount.
Der
Bay The
International Anglo-Yiddish Newsletter fosters the preservation of the
Yiddish language (mame-loshn) and associated Yiddish culture, music,
theater, literature and poetry via the International Association of
Yiddish Clubs (IAYC).
Folksbiene Yiddish
Theatre works to preserve, promote, and develop
Yiddish Theater for current and future generations to enhance the
understanding and appreciation of Yiddish culture as a necessary
component of Jewish life.
Israel
Association For Ethiopian Jewry (IAEJ)
is an Ethiopian-led advocacy and service organization
representing Israel's Ethiopian immigrant community, to
assist in the full and rapid absorption and integration
of Ethiopian Jews into mainstream Israeli society. Susan

Jewish
Association for
Services for the Aged provides social, recreational, health,
cultural and educational programs for older persons, regardless of
their race, religion or ethnicity to help sustain them in their homes
and communities and to offer opportunities for a better quality of
life. JASA sponsors the Joint Public Affairs Committee that educates older
adults about senior
programs, pending legislation and the “how to’s" of social action.” JPAC
sponsors the Institute
for Senior Action. IFSA, an innovative leadership and
advocacy-training course. Founder of the institute Dorothy Epstein in
July 2005 ("A Taste of Country Living, with Fresh Air Fund, 1924")

the place to buy
Yiddish language books, CDs and references, books of interest
to Workmen's Circle members and Jewish Currents readers,
plus a wide selection of Judaica for every occasion. Buy
online, by phone or at their store. The Jewish Book
Center is owned by Workmen's Circle. Members receive a 10 percent discount.
Jewish
Funds for Justice is a national, publicly supported foundation
that acts on the historic commitment of the Jewish people to tzedakah
(righteous giving) and tikkun olam (repair of the world). JFJ
&
Shefa Fund
that organizes Jewish individuals,
organizations and foundations to use their financial assets to build
community and foster justice, are now combined to advance their shared
domestic social change agenda; renew Jewish commitment to end poverty.
The Jewish Media
Conspiracy web site is
devoted to looking at the constant evolution of Jewish thought,
culture, and the Jewish people. Oy Mendele! is a radio show that focuses
on Jewish thought and culture. Eric Fixler is the lead producer of the
Oy Mendele show and website. An audio version of The Rootless

Jews
For Racial and Economic Justice is a New
York City-based organization that through education, community
organizing, media activism and coalition building, brings our values
into the debates over our city’s future.
Living Traditions,
founded in 1994, is dedicated to the celebration and
continuity of community-based traditional Yiddish
culture. Executive Director Henry Sapoznik is an
award-winning author, record and radio producer and
performer of traditional Yiddish and American music and
winner of Jewish Currents 2006 Moshe Katz Award. One of

Response to Hunger aims to educate and raise the consciousness of the
Jewish community regarding its obligation to alleviate hunger and its
