December 7: Noam Chomsky
Linguist, philosopher, and political radical Noam Chomsky was born in Philadelphia on this date in 1928. A professor at MIT for 55 years and the author of more than 100 books, Chomsky opened up a modern understanding of linguistics as a branch of cognitive psychology, with insights about language leading to insights about human nature and our mental architecture. Chomsky has also been a lifelong critic of unregulated capitalism, imperialism, and political authoritarianism. His father was a professor of Hebrew at Gratz College and a member of the IWW, and Chomsky’s politics reflect, in many ways, anarcho-syndicalist and libertarian socialist perspectives. He has been highly critical of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands and what he calls “Israel’s very clear choice of expansion over security.” Chomsky has been awarded honorary doctorates by some forty universities. The world’s largest garden gnome, in Accord, New York — the hometown of JEWDAYO — is named “Gnome Chomsky.”
“Everybody’s worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there’s a really easy way: stop participating in it.” —Noam Chomsky

On the other hand, in a book Chomsky co-authored called AFTER THE CATACLYSM, he is remarkably understanding when it comes to the auto-genocide engineered by Pol Pot in Cambodia. I mention this, among other things, in an article of mine:

Chomsky’s analogies create perspective, a vision of how things really are with American so-called “foreign policy” — that set of reflexive terrorism aimed at maintaining the status quo for American interests. Israel is opposed by most of the Muslim world based upon its violent actions, invasions, property theft and racism. The nonsense about “existence”, this hasbara credo, is used to justify the crimes of few Zionists stealing land and water.
You are simply foolish to expend energy defending the indefensible terrorism of America and Zionism.

I have left-wng credentials, but I am a Zionist as well. How any progressive/liberal/radical person can espouse the cause of Islamic expansion is beyond my comprehension. A religion which teaches violence, which reached its apoge in the 13th century, which enslaves and mutilates women is canNOT even be considered. Especially by self-hating Jews who say that they are progressive, but back the Islamic world over Israel the only country of the Middle East which allows women equal rights (including to the Moslems who are Israeli citizens). How many more Holocausts must there be before left-wing Jews put aside Israle’s faults and side with progress! It’s true that many faults can be attiributed to various Israeli governments, (including the present one), but of the 8 wars in that rregion during my lifetime, Israel mistakenly began one of them. I’ve lived there off and on since 195 and have seen its amazing progress, its ecological and intellectual diversity and the strength of its people who must valiently protect themselves from the world of Islam surrounding it and hating it. Aren’t THOSE enoough enemies? Do we also need Jewish enemies?
NO WE DO NOT!!!!
